Developing a site professionally is the only way to create a productive site that does not generate unnecessary expenses over time.
You will need both a domain name and a
hosting package to deliver your emails and website.
If you have not already secured your domain name, please discuss with us first as we can advise you on the best domain name for your business.
We provide workflows to guide our clients
through preparation processes but assets you may want to consider in your
planning are:
Brand Development –
logo | brand colours | ethos | taglines |
key messages.
Content Development – content copy,
photography and
media.
Website Structure and Functionality – what are the site pages and
menu structure you are considering, and what must the site do?
Do you want to be able to update your
site in-house? And if so, to what extent? Do you have web graphic skills
or do you just want to be able to update text content?
Or would you rather someone else manage the updates for you?
These considerations are important upfront as depending on your requirements and skill set different content management systems (CMS) can be implemented.
Generally, WordPress sites suit most
small to medium sized businesses, as the in-house editing capabilities
and application integration it allows are the most cost-effective solution
for development, scalability and ongoing management.
But if you are after a small site that you are happy to update in html, this is the most cost-effective option of all as annual ongoing costs are minimal.
If you are after a much larger development then other frameworks will likely be more suitable than WordPress.
If you have any particular requirements,
like an online shop or a
membership or booking system, you need to specify them.
Standard websites do not include these provisions by default and they need to be outlined to be included in your quote.
The price of a site in general does not
relate specifically to the number of pages on the site; it relates to the
time spent on website/page construction. A site that requires little
customisation and functionality can be produced more quickly and at
a lower price. This is reflected in the price of our ‘Pod’ package.
But if you are a business that requires more customisation and functionality then it will be more time-consuming to produce. In this case you will be better suited to our larger packages.
Generating site traffic and achieving
a top spot on Google’s results page can be accomplished through various
methods. The best strategy will depend on your business type and how best
you can be found, along with factors such as competition, your existing marketing assets
and your intended budget.
But it is important to note that results do not simply come down
to the amount you spend, there is an ‘art’ to working Google and the other
leading advertising platforms – some people pay dozens times more for a
click than others do – and only a professional marketing setup
will be able to get
you cost-effective results.
Your marketing strategy should be customised for you, as each
business is unique and will have different options available. Any
professional team will understand this and work with you to explain
what choices you have and the reasoning behind them.
Making sure you protect your customer
data and your own is most important.
A professional web team will be able to outline some policies you
can put in place for privacy and the protection of personal data.
