The Early Years

Our company Paradigm4 was founded by three of us back in the mid 90s when the Internet was still black backgrounds and orange writing. There were not yet pictures! Brian, a mathematician at Deakin, had set up a local bulletin board called MountainNet and we all became very engaged with it.

We were interested in where the Internet may be going and had recently befriended Andrew Pam and Katherine Phelps. They had set up the first commercial website in Australia - Glass Wings - and they kindly let Paula work with them and learn HTML.

By this point the Internet could display images and websites were just starting to appear in Australia. We set up Paradigm4 and got to work putting on businesses across Melbourne, the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges. Before long we were working with businesses and organisations across Australia and our company grew quickly.

The Next Phase

Over the next 20 years we worked on 100s of sites, as well as creating 100s of sites for community groups and providing their training services. Our kids got older and we became one of the first largely online businesses to operate with staff remotely. We loved it and it was great for our kids.

We assisted all sorts of community organisations including health, Indigenous and environmental, from larger ones like historical societies, Amnesty International and CASA (the Centre Against Sexual Assault), down to little ones like the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater. We developed their websites and trained these groups in website development and how to run email and other services. We enjoyed this work immensely, we met some amazing people and it was extremely rewarding for us.

Nowadays

Although we are still Paradigm4 Pty Ltd we have rebranded over the last several years to trade as MOG Media. This is to honour the creative media side of our business which has grown over the last decade as video for websites has become viable.

Because we've had a keen interest and worked with film and photography across our time it has been a natural progression to incorporate this work into our website and marketing processes. We love doing this work and it helps our clients because they needn't worry about finding several suppliers.

We're still made up of more or less the same crew though we now have the next generation working with us. Our older and younger team bring the best of services to our clients and we very much enjoy working together.
